Lightforce is nice! I may have to get one. But I have a bunch of different ones. I'm a collector when it comes to this sort of stuff. I just got a new Streamlight UltraStinger as co-pilot hand light. It even has a red lens for it and puts out a respectable 70,000 CP. Not bad for a flashlight.

I keep an Ultra-stinger on the hip too. Heath's lite-force is what I'm usually hlding, but n9inchglock and me made a 6 volt setup from some optronix lights. The battery is in a pack, so we're only swinging the light itself. It's super light..

Yes, it is very light and surprisingly bright for a 6 volt light!

That's sounds pretty nice. I've got like at least a dozen different lights and setups. My favorite is an old KC Daylighter driving light that I built a handle for. It's got a half power switch on it which is nice. It also has a push button on it that is wired back to the plug in so the driver can tell when I spot something.

I swing my own home made flip-lens light.
I mold the body from fiberglass cloth to make it lightweight and strong. The lamp is an aircraft landing light of 140,000 CP and I have a built in electronic rheostat to control brightness and conserve power. It also has an "auto-burn" feature so that even if you have the power dialed down, when you pull the trigger to flip the lens to white, a relay automatically overides the rheostat and feeds full voltage to the light. I have been using it for about a year now and it hunts very well.
I had planned on making and selling them but after all of the labor time and materials cost
, the price point would have to be too high.

I am in the process of making three more of these lights for different people. They must really like them a lot because it isn't cheap for me to custom make them. It takes a lot of time and the materials cost alone is about $100.00. B)

That Stinger works real well. I used it the other night to track a skunk down and shoot that sucker. He's been coming around about 3:00 am and smelling up the place. It's my neighbors leaving out dog food that attracts them.

Well it sounds like he wont be stealing that dog food any more! People just dont stop to think about the things they do these days .... skunks are a bad critter to have at your house; they tend to carry rabies.

I thought about putting the skunk down the offending neighbors chimney but my luck they'd do a necropsy on the skunk and find he'd been shot and it wasn't a suicide.

You guys are way too high tech and pricey for me..
With lights like these out there, I don't know how I keep killing coyotes with my cheap Q-Beam with a red lense super glued to it, because it didn't come with one.
$100-$400 for spotlights!!!!! :WTF:

Tim,
I had to quit a hunt early once after a Q-Beam burnt out a switch... I was upset that it happened and that I didnt have the spare parts that I knew I should carry. I paid for the Light Force 170 and couldnt be happier. It's one of those things that is important, so I am willing to spend a little more on it.

I usually just carry two. And have had them for years now. Hopefully I don't have a problem with either of them, then I might be cohearsed into buying the lightforce and that wouldn't make the wife happy

Well, if I play my cards right I buy it with my mad money I get from those TV Shows of animal rescues. The checks come to me. That way if I keep whatever I buy around for awhile and get it a little dirty she'll never know. If I have to buy it on a credit card I make sure to get the bill first and pay it online. Then step two again and make it look like I've had it for awhile. I have so much junk she can't keep track of the new stuff.
If she asks me about something I say it was on sale, she doesn't really care.

After fabricating my first innovative light, the response has prompted me to go into production. I can't make the darn things fast enough. I recently shipped one to a guy and after he received it and tried it, he immediately ordered another one.
Another customer purchased a PMGC Ultimate Hunting Light and a set of my mouth calls to take with him on an African predator hunt. I can't wait to hear how he makes out. How exciting would that be?
I am now in the process of fabricating 12 more lights and 4 are sold already. It is a labor intensive operation though because I personally lay up the fiberglass tubes and machine all of the metals. The lights do kick butt though and no other light out there packs all the features that mine do. Unfortunately the $450.00 price tag prevents some hunters from buying one but other guys are stepping up to the plate and putting their money down for a full custom made light. There are 77 different production steps to the build one of my lights and all of that represents labor. I have to charge for it. Perhaps if things keep going well, I will be able to contract a manufacturer and build in quantity. That would bring the price point down considerably.

Red, I have no doubt it is an exceptional light. I have used and or seen and been able to play with different lights that had some of the features your lights have. They didn't have them all on the same light, but between the different lights they had them collectively.
If I did more hunting than I do know I'd have had my order in months ago! But my current level of hunting just doesn't warrant a superb light like the one that you make.
I need to roll with some of you PCOC guys on a hunt some time to see how you guys do it. Like has been mentioned before, no one at the Riverside group uses a camper shell setup any longer. It would be an experience for sure!
Gary extended me an offer to hunt with him some time and I look forward to it. I look forward to seeing how his rig is setup and some of the cool tools you guys make to help on those hunts.
If I came across like I was looking down on your product or being insulting I want you to know I did not intend it that way. Your light is just simply out of my league!

Hey pal, I never thought you were saying or doing anything negative. Relax, I am a very easy going guy. Even if you did, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Truth is, if I wasn't making the lights myself, I couldn't afford one either.
I would love to take you hunting sometime. The fun part of going with different people is seeing how each individual hunter operates. You always learn something. Save the good stuff to incorporate into your own hunting style and cast off the stuff you don't quite fancy. It's a can't lose deal.
Let's stay in touch and get out for a hunt in the Fall. I think you'll like my hunt rig's versatility and I'm sure we'll both enjoy ourselves. I am at sea a lot so I will kind of fade in and out on the forum. Internet access on the ship is very expensive. Stay well.
