Our first eggs!

Earlier this spring we bought baby chicks that would be egg layers once they were adults. The girls had great fun with them as chicks and still love to play with them. We have got to have some the tamest chickens in the entire county!

Today while we were all out at the chicken house to take out a new bag of feed I noticed something up on one of the shelves. It was an egg! All told there were 4 eggs out there. Before long we should have all kinds of eggs. Yum!

One of the girls let me know last night that I needed to take those eggs back to the chickens.

Nothing like farm fresh eggs! I can't hardly eat store bought eggs anymore.

We totally agree with you. The eggs are still pretty small, but we're excited none the less. When they all start laying there will be more eggs than we can use, but our neighbors will sure be happy.
