Just saw a guy on a hunting show up in Oregon call in a Bobcat with a Lip Squeak call using the back of his hand. Never seen anything like that and he was good!

I use the lipsqueak for two things. First, to obvioulsy bring them in colser. You'd be amazed at how sensitive cats and dogs ears are. Second, I use it to alert my partner of an incoming animal. It works a lot better than saying "hey, here comes something" LOL.

And it's amazing how far away that they can hear that squeaking sound.

How did you learn to do that? I screwed around after seeing that and I couldn't do anything close. All I did was slobber on the back of my hand and sounded like a bad porno! :yikes:

Just keep practicing and if you're using the back of your hand don't let anyone see you or they'll think you're weird. :moon:

dito!! they can hear it if the weathers good over 100 yards. if you cant get your hands to work just use your lips. if you still cant get it just akes anybody here would be more than happy to help.

when i went to the calling seminar down in riverside i saw les Johnson use his hand. it sound did like he had a hand call. i thought it sounded better than some handcalls i've seen people use too. i guess it call comes with practice.

You could practice on your wifes mommy bags and she would never be the wiser. :rofl2: I think that is how Les said he learned. (in a back seat)
I do a lot of my practice in the car driving to work. And if I don't say so myself, I sound damn good. :rofl2:

Murry Burnham taught me how to lip squeak, and I have many versions of the sound now. One trick that I do is record the sounds and load them on my FoxPro. The amplified lip squeak then becomes a long range calling sound that not many folks are using.

That sounds great, but I gotta SEE what you are doing. Take a picture of yourself so I can see...

I simply compress my lips tightly, and suck air between em. The squeaks come out on far right corner of my mouth.

LMAO!!!!!!!! HAHAHA. Okay. Sincerely - thank you for the picture.

So - when I do that, all I do is suffocate myself. I'll have to practice it with no hands... I still like the mommy bags idea.

I agree. Looking back at my post, I hope you didn't think I was just trying to get you to take a silly picture of yourself. I sincerely appreciate it. I can do it on the back of my hand, but I'm sure havin' a tough time without.
