I've had the opportunity to test out another new light and am very satisfied with it. The light is made my Solarforce and is another LED light which runs on 2 of the 3 volt CR123A batteries. It is rated at an amazing 300 lumens! I've played with mine for a little over two months now and am satisfied it is going to be a great addition to my night time hunting arsenal.

Because it is an LED it doesn't generate heat. It is light weight and easily held in one hand. The battery life is something I haven't tested yet as those darn CR123 batteries can be expensive. If you search E-Bay for "solarforce" you can find this small hand held light shipped for under $30. While you're there you might also want to look for the rechargeable CR123's that are available.

I have spotted eyes with this light out to 150 yards while I was back in Missouri. I'm confident that had I been looking through a scope I would have been able to identify the animal. I've got one of these now and have just ordered a second along with some replacement batteries.




Just a quick update, I let it run last night for an hour and 45 minutes before it began to show signs of growing dim. The housing was very warm to the touch at that that point. So much so that it was uncomfortable to hold in my hand. I am not sure how long it took to get that warm, but I expect that under normal night time hunting conditions this would never become an issue.

There are two kinds of Li C123 batts, 3.0 and 3.7 volts. If you get rechargeables, make sure they're compatible with the recharger. If you see a good mobile 12 volt / 3.7 volt recharger, I'd like to know about it. I have looked many places, Google, Amazon, Ebay, and none of those works.

Gary, a way that it can be accomplished easily is to use a 110 volt charger, and just use a small inverter, that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I don't know why that wouldn't do it.

I may give this one a try. It looks like a nice light to use when hunting alone, because you can hold it and the rifle in one hand. At least it looks like you could.

I am going to use it just as it is now. My plan is to make some sort of shroud for it and use it as is now. They do offer a lens kit if you wanted a red lens. It's a good light. If you want a good light for a 9 volt area this is your light.

Ok, I just popped in two new batteries and started the timer. I will watch and see how long it will run continuously on these two fresh batteries.

Braz, I am at 41 minutes now and see no discernible difference in the brightness of the light.

After talking to Heath, I checked out the specs of the SolarForce L2 vs the UltraStinger:

UltraStinger - Up to 75,000 candela (peak beam intensity); 295 lumens - www.streamlight.com
Solarforce L2 - Up to 275 lumens of current-regulated output (LED module) - www.solarforce.hk

Other than that it's an awsome light for it's size and for being an LED flashlight. Since you already feild tested it, I'll be getting one too. Also, for the SureFire 6P guys you can buy the drop in light module at www.lighthound.com. Lighthound has the rechargeable CR123A batteries for this light and the 18650P rechargeable battery depending on which version of the L2 you get.

And Heath, don't forget i have the 3Volt batteries, just ask.

I dont' think it will get hot in use, as you won't typically have it one that long. But that sure is encouraging. I'm going to have to order one of those.

I agree. I've used mine a few times at night and didn't have a problem with it getting warm. Perhaps if someone were making very long night time stands it might be an issue.

I've used mine a bunch now. It's actually too bright for walking! I ordered a 12v charger and 4 more rechargeables for $25 from Hong Kong and shipping was free. It works just fine lighting coyotes out to 150+ yards. Standing in total darkness out in the desert with a flashlight in one hand, a shotgun in the other, and a mouth call between my teeth isn't easy, but it gets the adrenaline flowing when a pack comes running in all eyes glowing.

dont just braggg about this light. Please help. I have looked for this light on the web. they dont sell the complete light, almost all say
