Less than a minute into this stand playing a little jack rabbit distress and we spotted a double. Jeph was on the rifle and stopped this male before he got down wind just inside 100 yards. The response time for this double up has got to be the fastest I've ever seen. It just goes to show you how important it is to keep your noise down when you enter to start the stand. Posted Image

here's the rest of the shots of the weekend.

The first one was my first ever White tipped and white socked coyote. He was a healthy older male. It was nice to see some movement early in the day.

The next coyote came in halfway through the day. When my .223 went crack, the 40g v-max liquefied his insides. I mean literally there was a blood trail like I have never seen from a coyote, and then he laid to rest about 30 yards away.

Heath and I had a good day of calling. Although not a lot of animals came in, it was still good to find a few new areas to hunt and at least put some fur on the ground during the day.

I think that may be the first coyote with a white tail tip that I have seen. Apparently either I need to get better at calling coyotes close or need to leave the shotgun in the truck and carry my rifle!!

He didn't even notice the white tip until I pointed it out to him. He was starting to fur up and might have been worth keeping in a month or so.
